About Bola Tinubu

Born on the 29th of March, 1952 into the famous Tinubu family in Lagos, Bola Tinubu just like any other promising child began his educational adventure at the St.John’s primary school, Aroloya, Lagos island and Children’s home school in Ibadan, before he travelled to the United States of America in 1975.
Passing through Richard Daley College, Chicago, Illinois was a significant turning point in his life, with his sparkling elements of brilliance lighting up every nooks and crannies of the College. The drive for excellence took the then Young Tinubu to Chicago State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1979.
Bola Tinubu later worked at Arthur Anderson, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and GTE Services Corporation all in the Unites States of America.

With excitement, Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Nigeria in 1983 and worked with Mobil Production Company, Nigeria, where he rose to become its treasurer.
In the early 90’s Bola Tinubu ventured into politics, specifically, 1992 as a senator of the Lagos West district, and history smiled at him as he was elected the 3rd executive Governor of Lagos State, on the platform of AD between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2007.
During this period, Lagos witnessed a radical developmental revolution in all sector of human endeavor, even when the Federal government stiffened the breathe valve of the state treasury, with the seizure of the local government funds over the legitimate creation of 37 local council development areas out of the existing 20 local government councils.
Lest we all forget, Asiwaju Tinubu’s performance was rewarded with both local and international awards such as: Best Governor In Nigeria (2000) by the Belgium chamber of commerce, 2002 best practice price in improving living environment, 2002 best computerized government in Nigeria by the Computer Association of Nigeria, and a host of others.

The Nigerian political colossus has bestrode its political space with his armory of resilience, strategy, compassion, humility, integrity and intelligence. Today, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the political party that rescued Nigeria from total collapse in 2015, through the electoral processes that produced President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR.
